The Addiction

I got Netflix and suddenly life is good. I watch it before work, after work and any spare weekend moments are spent searching for new releases or hidden gems. Undeniably you do have to skip through some rubbish to get to the good stuff, although maybe I should give 'Killer Clowns From Outer Space' a chance...If you have a love for little known films and TV series that haven't quite made it over the pond on to attainable channels you will be in heaven. In the first free month my greatest discovery was Arrested Development which is a fantastic American Sit-com starring Jason Bateman and Michael Cera; it was made a few years ago and shown late night on the BBC, when it is really prime time weekend material. It is seriously a laugh a minute.

Moving into the second month and the excitement may have died down a little, but after a quiet weekend I experienced the full power of Netflix and spent hours watching different movies, old films that I had never got round to watching and even some new. I just watched Drive, starring Carey Mulligan and Ryan Gosling; two hot names in Hollywood that have quickly ticked off a number of genres in the space of a few years. Brilliant performances and a surprisingly simple plot that captured the mentality and violence of gang crime. So while I had been daydreaming about moving to LA to live the American dream earlier today....now I am not so sure, it doesn't look as idyllic as I previously imagined. It did however inspire a new dream of becoming a racing driver!
